The HVGPR vacuum gauge from Teledyne Hastings Instruments is built around a compact, thermal-based Pirani sensing technology. At its core is a precision welded hot-wire thermal Pirani sensor capable of measuring pressures from 1 × 10⁻⁴ to 1,000 Torr, covering atmospheric pressure down to 0.1 mTorr (1.3 × 10⁻⁴ mbar / 1.3 × 10⁻² Pascal).
This same proven sensor architecture has been utilized in the high-volume production of the HVG-2020B Piezo/Pirani vacuum gauge since 2019, delivering reliable and repeatable performance across a wide dynamic range.
The HVGPR has been specifically engineered to simplify system integration. It is available with either a KF-16 flange or a 1/8” MNPT connection, both compact and cost-effective options ideally suited for OEM applications and embedded system designs. Its small footprint makes it particularly attractive for installations within space-constrained enclosures.
For process monitoring and control, the HVGPR provides two selectable logarithmic analog output configurations:
1 V per decade (2–9 VDC)
1.286 V per decade (1.16–10.1620 VDC)
These output curves enable measurement across seven decades of vacuum while maintaining clear and usable resolution throughout the range.
Digital communication via RS485 is standard on every unit. Through the RS485 interface, users can read pressure values, modify analog output settings, select gas calibration, and access additional configuration functions. Power input, analog output, and digital communication are all consolidated into a single RJ45 connector, simplifying installation and reducing wiring complexity. RJ45 components are widely available and easy to integrate into existing systems.
Although vacuum gauges are typically installed with the port facing downward, the HVGPR is designed to maintain accurate measurements regardless of mounting orientation, offering greater flexibility in system layout.
Compact, integration-friendly, and engineered for dependable wide-range performance, the HVGPR is an ideal solution for OEM manufacturers, automated systems, and industrial process control applications.
