OvMeter

Motorized Optical Microscope for Automated Cells Counting

OnAIR™ proprietary algorithm allows automated concentration analysis of Ostreopsis ovata.

  • Fully motorized inverted optical microscope
  • Machine Learning based automated segmentation and recognition of single cells
  • Online counting of sedimentation chamber content
Operation

The OvMeter is designed to hold both Uterhmöl sedimentation and Sedgewick Rafter counting chambers.
The scanning procedure is set and launched by the user within a convenient graphical user interface designed based on the sea ecologists demands.
Several optical images are acquired and analyzed in real time.

The software returns number of counted Ostreopsis ovata cells and their concentration. Results are then conveniently stored in a database. The OvMeter software, in addition to the automated counting, allows for user to count manually cells, just same as any other digital microscope.
The OvMeter sampling strategy and counting performs accordingly to the relevant international standards and have been approved by the National Italian Environment Protection and Research Agency (ISPRA).
