Ci7520 Benchtop Sphere Spectrophotometer

For measuring the color of orange juice

Recently approved by the USDA for performing orange juice color grading, the Ci7520 spectrophotometer, used with X-Rite's Color iQC software, can measure color and assign scores to meet the OJ standard. The Ci7520, when used with a magnetically fixed sample holder for liquid tubes, allows for easy sample presentation and minimizes contamination of the instrument. It measures in reflectance mode to accurately capture the color of orange juice and other liquids. The video preview ensures that the sample measurement area is precise, and Color iQC stores an image of the measurement to ensure comprehensive quality control and verified results.

The Ci7520 is a USDA-approved spectrophotometer for measuring and grading various types of orange juice: frozen concentrated (FCOJ), canned concentrate (CCOJ), concentrate for production (COJFM), pasteurized (POJ), canned not-from-concentrate (CSSOJ), and from-concentrate (OJFC).

Benefits:

  • Color accuracy and consistency with an inter-instrument agreement of 0.15 ΔE* and a repeatability of 0.03 ΔE*.
  • Uniform setup across all stations, minimizing errors due to automatic configuration by the software.
  • Compatibility with industry standards, including CIE No. 15, ASTM D1003, and ISO 7724/1, and USDA-approved for weighted color measurement of orange juice.
