Schaefer is pleased to announce the new HVG-PR Vacuum Gauge, the latest addition to the vacuum measurement portfolio from Teledyne Hastings Instruments. Designed with OEMs and system integrators in mind, the HVG-PR combines precision, compact design, and flexible connectivity in a highly competitive solution for process automation and scientific applications.

Wide Measurement Range: Atmosphere to Medium Vacuum

The HVG-PR measures from atmospheric pressure down to 0.1 mTorr (1.3 × 10⁻⁴ mbar) using the same proven Pirani sensor technology featured in the well-established HVG-2020B. This ensures excellent accuracy particularly in the 1 mTorr to 100 Torr range, while maintaining visibility up to atmospheric pressure — making it suitable for a broad range of vacuum processes.

Flexible Mechanical and Electrical Integration

To simplify installation in new or existing systems, the HVG-PR is available with:

  • KF-16 flange

  • 1/8” MNPT connection

The gauge can be mounted in any orientation — vertical or inclined — without affecting performance.

From an electrical standpoint, the HVG-PR offers:

  • Logarithmic analog outputs (1 V/decade or 1.286 V/decade)

  • Standard RS485 digital communication

Power supply, analog output, and digital communication are all accessible via a single RJ45 connector, reducing wiring complexity and easing system integration.

Enhanced Usability and Control

The top panel includes a status LED that provides a quick visual indication of pressure level. Zero and span adjustments can be performed via:

  • Recessed push button

  • Remote contacts

  • RS485 communication

This versatility allows seamless configuration both locally and through automated control systems.

Typical Applications

The HVG-PR is ideal for a wide range of industrial and scientific environments, including:

  • Vacuum centrifuges

  • Surface porosimetry

  • Optical emission spectroscopy

  • High-pressure metrology systems

  • Semiconductor processing

  • Foreline monitoring

  • Thin film deposition

  • Vacuum furnaces
