Unlock New Dimensions: Exploring Holotomography's Untapped Potential with 3D Spinning Disk
Post publication date:
Friday, May 30, 2025

CrestOptics and Tomocube, both at the forefront of innovative imaging solutions, have joined forces to bring you an insightful webinar exploring the powerful synergy of holotomography and 3D spinning disk confocal microscopy.

Discover how this cutting-edge combination unlocks unprecedented capabilities for high-resolution, label-free 3D imaging, minimizing phototoxicity and opening new avenues for long-term studies of dynamic cellular processes.

Dr. Daniel Ghete from Tomocube will detail the strengths of their holotomography technology and their role in its development and application. Furthermore, Dr. Sonia Montanari from CrestOptics will describe their spinning disk technology and its significant impact on the field of imaging and biological research.

To further illuminate the transformative potential of these integrated technologies, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Hélène Chanut, a CNRS researcher at the Centre de Biologie Intégrative (CBI) in Toulouse. Dr. Chanut’s research focuses on morphogenetic processes in living organisms, with a keen interest in imaging-based approaches. Using advanced tools like the Tomocube system paired with CrestOptics Spinning Disk Technology, her work on the Drosophila spermatheca provides fascinating insights into tissue plasticity and reproductive biology.

Join us to hear firsthand how these synergistic technologies are reshaping the landscape of quantitative, gentle imaging and enabling groundbreaking discoveries.

Keynote speakers

Daniel Ghete – Applications Specialist at Tomocube, Republic of Korea

Daniel Ghete built a strong foundation in the biological sciences through his academic training, earning an MSc in Molecular Medicine and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of York. Driven by a longstanding curiosity about science and technology, he cultivated a particular interest in advanced imaging and microscopy. Following his postgraduate studies, Daniel joined Tomocube as an Application Specialist, where he entered the field of label-free optical imaging. Over the past four and a half years, he has collaborated closely with researchers across the EMEA region, delivering cutting-edge imaging solutions to support and accelerate scientific discovery.

Hélène Chanut – Resercher at Centre de Biologie Intégrative | CNRS, Toulouse, France

Hélène Chanut is a CNRS researcher at the Centre de Biologie Intégrative (CBI) in Toulouse, where she investigates morphogenetic processes using Drosophila melanogaster as a genetic model. Throughout her career, she has been driven by a strong interest in imaging-based approaches to study how tissues change shape, with a particular focus on analyzing the dynamics of cells and tissues in living organisms. Her current research focuses on the spermatheca, a female reproductive organ in Drosophila that undergoes significant morphological remodeling after mating. This gland plays a crucial role in long-term sperm storage by secreting molecules essential for sperm maintenance and survival. By using advanced imaging technologies such as Tomocube, she aims to visualize the structural changes in secretory cells triggered by mating, providing new insights into tissue plasticity and reproductive biology.

Sonia Montanari – Trade Marketing Manager at CrestOptics, Italy

Sonia Montanari is the Trade Marketing Manager at CrestOptics. As a graduate of the University of Bologna, she earned her doctorate from the University of Toronto and then worked for a microscopy company as a Sales Representative and Imaging Specialist for several years, where she gained a thorough understanding of the world of microscopy and technology. With a broad range of academic research expertise and microscopy experience, she has unique insight into the field of science. Prior to her current position, she served as a Business Development Specialist at CrestOptics, driving strategic growth within North America. In her current role, Sonia aligns CrestOptics’ marketing initiatives with its global distribution network, focusing on driving product sales, enhancing brand visibility, and empowering distributors through strategic marketing and training program.
