Microfluidic-mediated self-assembly of liposomes and polymer nanoparticles expands the strategies available to the formulation scientist for the encapsulation and delivery of hydrophobic compounds.

In this webinar Dr. James Taylor and Dr. Shyam Garg will explore the encapsulation of a model hydrophobic drug, Coumarin-6, by PLGA nanoparticles and cholesterol-containing liposomes. Microfluidic process parameters and nanoparticle compositions will be investigated, and their influence on particle size, polydispersity and encapsulation efficiency will be discussed.
