22–24 October 2026 | Camogli, Italy

Schaefer Italia is pleased to participate as a sponsor of the XXIV AIBG National Congress, taking place from 22 to 24 October 2026 at the Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi in Camogli, Italy.

Organised in collaboration with the University of Genoa, the congress brings together researchers, academics, professionals and students to exchange knowledge and explore recent developments in cellular and molecular biology and genetics.

This year's scientific programme addresses some of the fundamental questions in modern biology: how cells grow and differentiate, how they respond to environmental stress, how gene expression is regulated, and how intracellular and extracellular structures contribute to physiological and pathological processes.

From Cellular Structures to Biological Functions

Understanding cellular behaviour requires increasingly sophisticated approaches capable of connecting molecular mechanisms with observable biological changes.

The AIBG 2026 programme reflects this multidisciplinary perspective, with scientific sessions dedicated to cell proliferation and differentiation, cellular stress responses, structural and functional genomics, epigenetic regulation, and the biology of cellular organelles and extracellular structures.

Among the topics addressed are mitochondrial dysfunction, extracellular vesicle-mediated communication, stem cell differentiation and tissue engineering, highlighting the importance of studying biological processes across different levels of complexity.

As an opportunity to connect technological innovation with fundamental research, SEE will introduce scientific solutions from Tomocube, Izon Science and Regemat3D, three companies developing complementary approaches to investigating cells and biological systems.

Observing Living Cells: Tomocube and Label-Free 3D Imaging

Cells are constantly changing. Their morphology, internal organisation and interactions with their environment evolve during proliferation, differentiation and responses to stress.

Capturing these processes over time is essential for understanding cellular dynamics, but conventional imaging methods may require fluorescent labels or sample preparation procedures that can interfere with natural cell behaviour.

Tomocube's HT-X1 holotomography platform offers a different approach, enabling high-resolution, three-dimensional observation of living cells without the need for fluorescent labelling.

By measuring variations in refractive index, holotomography provides quantitative information about cellular morphology and intracellular structures, including nuclei, mitochondria and lipid droplets.

This approach is particularly relevant for investigating organelle dynamics, cell growth, morphological changes associated with stress, and the development of complex biological systems such as organoids.
