The S lynx 2 is the new 3D profilometer, contactless and high-resolution, in a more compact format. This system is the result of over 14 years of experience by the Spanish company in designing optical systems for metrology, both for the Research & Development sector and for industry. With this instrument, Sensofar has successfully combined the entire performance of the S line, which includes high-end profilometers, into a more compact platform.
Despite its compact format, the S lynx 2 uses the technological approach with Sensofar’s 3-in-1 solution, meaning the integration of confocal, interferometric, and focus variation techniques in the same head. This approach translates into unique versatility in surface measurement, allowing it to work on various textures, structures, roughness, and waviness, and across different surface scales. The S lynx 2 allows the same high-level measurements as other Sensofar instruments, but in a more compact design.
The S lynx 2 is equipped with a white LED light source, a high-resolution camera, and a turret for interchangeable objectives. There are no moving parts in the instrument head, which promotes stability, repeatability, and provides greater durability for the instrument.
The software available with the instrument, SensoSCAN 6, has recently been updated to offer an even more intuitive interface than previous versions. It includes customizable tools and a new powerful analysis algorithm specifically designed to ensure compatibility with current surface measurement standards (such as ISO standards).
The versatility of the S lynx 2 makes it suitable for a wide range of surface measurement applications, including the automotive sector, consumer electronics, energy, LCDs, materials science, microelectronics, micrometric-scale manufacturing (EDM, knurling, or laser machining), micropaleontology, semiconductors, and instrument and watch manufacturing.
Compared to the previous model, the S lynx 2 has advanced stitching capabilities, allowing for high-resolution data acquisition over larger areas. The innovative algorithms cover the entire motorized stage range, extending up to 125 x 75 mm.
