A study developed with the Tomocube holotomographic microscope ranks among the most-read of 2024

The scientific work by Francesca Sbrana, entitled "Label-free three-dimensional imaging and quantitative analysis of living fibroblasts and myofibroblasts by holotomographic microscopy" and published in the international journal Microscopy Research and Technique, has been ranked in the top 10% of the most-viewed papers in the journal throughout 2024. A recognition that highlights the scientific relevance of the research conducted and the growing interest of the international community in label-free imaging techniques.

The study employed holotomographic microscopy to quantitatively and three-dimensionally analyze fibroblasts and myofibroblasts in living cells, without the use of fluorescent markers. This methodology allows real-time monitoring of parameters such as cell volume, dry mass, and organelle changes during the fibroblast-to-myofibroblast transition, a key process in tissue repair mechanisms and fibrosis development.
