Substrata offers a full suite of aluminum coated silicon and glass substrates
All coatings are deposited under vacuum using electron beam evaporation. High purity aluminum thin films find applications in displays, microelectronics, optical, telecommunications, and superconducting industries due to their excellent properties including high conductance, low resistivity, high reflectance, strong adhesion, as well as resistance to oxidation and corrosion.
The naturally forming oxide that occurs on the surface of the aluminum, when exposed to air, further imparts optical, thermal, electrical, and chemical enhancing properties as well as extra corrosion protection to the underlying metal. Other applications include plasmonics, reflective coatings, bio sensors, and patterned electrodes.
If requested, an intermediate layer of titanium can be used between the substrate and aluminum to help promote adhesion. Custom sizes and materials can also be fabricated to meet your needs.
