Automatic Fraction Collector (AFC) V2

The AFC automates extracellular vesicle (EV) isolation and enables precise and reproducible separation.

The Automatic Fraction Collector (AFC) automates the isolation of extracellular vesicles (EVs), providing precise, customizable, and reproducible separation based on size exclusion chromatography. The instrument is compatible with the same Izon columns that can be used manually, allowing for a later upgrade to automation.

The AFC automatically detects the column type and its usage count via an RFID sensor. While the isolation parameters are standardized, they can be customized using the instrument's touchscreen interface. The software is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly.

During the isolation process, each drop is counted by a weight sensor. Once the volume of a single fraction is collected, the carousel automatically rotates to position the next vial. The carousel accommodates both 2 mL and 5 mL vials.

The AFC is equipped with an LED system and a display that provide real-time updates on the progress of the isolation process, allowing users to monitor its status at a glance.

The AFC can be placed inside a laminar flow hood to ensure a sterile product. For isolating multiple samples, multiple AFC units can be used in parallel.
